"When should we come?" is the first question most travelers ask us. The honest answer: China is a year-round destination, but each season rewards a different route.
Spring (April–May)
Mild temperatures across the whole country make spring the safest all-round choice. Beijing's parks bloom, the Yangtze gorges are green, and the crowds are far thinner than summer.
Summer (June–August)
Hot and busy, but this is prime time for Zhangjiajie's mountain scenery and for families tied to school holidays. Book early and plan indoor sights for midday heat.
Autumn (September–October)
Our favorite. Crisp skies in Beijing, golden light on the Great Wall, and the Yangtze at comfortable temperatures. Avoid the first week of October (Golden Week) when domestic travel peaks.
Winter (November–March)
The quiet season — and the cheapest. Northern cities are cold but photogenic, Harbin's ice festival is world-famous, and the south (Guilin, Yunnan) stays mild.
Whatever the season, we'll shape the route around it — get in touch and tell us your dates.
