3-Day Private Zhangjiajie Avatar Adventure from Shanghai

In the morning, a private vehicle transfers you from your downtown Shanghai hotel to Pudong or Hongqiao Airport for your flight to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport (about 2.5 hours). On arrival, your local guide meets you and drives you by private car to your hotel in the Wulingyuan area. The rest of the day is free. Rest at the hotel or take a short walk nearby among the sandstone peak scenery.

Depart early for Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China’s first national forest park. Enter through Wulingyuan Gate, take the eco-bus to Four Gates Around Water, then ride the Bailong Elevator up to Yuanjiajie. Walk to Qiankun Column (Hallelujah Mountain), the peak that inspired Avatar’s floating mountains, and cross the No. 1 Bridge Under Heaven. In the afternoon, visit Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve for sandstone peak views such as Imperial Brush Peaks, then ride the Ten-Mile Gallery sightseeing train toward Suoxiyu before returning to your hotel.

Depart early for Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in Cili County. Choose the Yuntiandu Glass Bridge walk or the canyon hiking trail; both routes pass First Line of Sky, plank roads, streams, and waterfalls such as Celestial Waterfall. An optional downhill slide is available. In the evening, transfer to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport for your flight back to Shanghai, where a private car takes you to your hotel.
