On arrival at Beijing Airport, your local guide and driver meet you at the exit. Depending on traffic, the drive to your downtown hotel takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. After check-in, the rest of the day is free. Rest and adjust to the time zone, or take a short walk near the hotel to get your bearings before the guided sightseeing days ahead.

After breakfast, visit Tiananmen Square, then walk into the Palace Museum (Forbidden City), the former imperial palace of halls and courtyards spanning more than 500 years. In the afternoon, continue to the Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors once prayed for good harvests. The day also includes a short stop at a traditional tea house for an introduction to Chinese tea culture before returning to your hotel.

After breakfast, drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall in Huairou District, a well-preserved Ming Dynasty section of the Wall among mountain ridges. Spend time walking the ramparts and watchtowers at your own pace. Afterward, visit a jade factory to see traditional jade carving techniques that have long been part of Chinese craft culture. Return to your hotel in the evening; the night is free to rest or explore nearby streets on your own.

After breakfast, the morning is free. Sleep in, pick up souvenirs near the hotel, or take a short walk in the neighborhood before departure. According to your flight or train schedule, the driver collects you at the hotel and transfers you to the airport or railway station for your onward journey, ending this 4-day Beijing city break after the Forbidden City and Mutianyu.
