Day by Day Itinerary
In the early morning, a private car picks you up from your hotel in downtown Shanghai and drives west along the Beijing–Shanghai Expressway. After about 1.5 to 2 hours, you reach the Suzhou area and begin at Tongli Ancient Town, walking canals and stone bridges. Continue into old Suzhou along the Pingjiang Road Historical Block, visiting Couple’s Garden (Ou Yuan) and local museums tied to Wu culture, including sites for pingtan, Kunqu opera, and Su embroidery as time allows. Before returning, stop at the Suzhou Silk Museum to follow silk from cocoon to finished cloth. In the evening, your private car brings you back to your Shanghai hotel.
