4-Day Shanghai City Break Tour (Superior)

On arrival at Shanghai Airport, your representative meets you at the arrival exit and transfers you by private vehicle to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free. Rest after long-haul travel, or take a short walk near the hotel to get your bearings in Shanghai. There is no fixed sightseeing schedule today, so you can settle in at your own pace before the guided days ahead.

After breakfast, visit Yu Garden and the nearby City God Temple Bazaar, where classical garden courtyards sit beside specialty shops and local snacks. Continue to Jade Buddha Temple to see its white jade Buddha statues. Lunch is included at a nearby restaurant. In the afternoon, tour a silk factory to learn how Chinese silk is woven and finished. Later walk Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund waterfront for views of the Huangpu River skyline, then return to your hotel in the evening.

After breakfast, drive to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in Qingpu District, a Jiangnan water town of canals, stone bridges, and Ming- and Qing-era houses. Walk the blue-stone lanes, cross the arch bridges, and browse the riverside lanes at an easy pace. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in the old town. In the afternoon, take a traditional wooden rowboat along the canals for about 30 minutes, viewing white-walled, black-tiled houses and willow-lined banks from the water. Return to downtown Shanghai afterward; dinner is at your own expense.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel. A private vehicle collects you according to your flight or train schedule and transfers you to Shanghai Pudong Airport, Hongqiao Airport, Shanghai Railway Station, or Hongqiao Railway Station for your onward journey.
