Mount Huashan: The Most Precipitous Mountain Under Heaven Known historically as the Western Yue, Mount Huashan is located in Huayin City, Shaanxi Province. As one of China’s Five Great Mountains, it is widely hailed as "the most precipitous mountain under heaven". The entire mountain is composed of a single massive granite block, with sheer cliffs rising thousands of feet on all sides and towering steep terrain.

Day by Day Itinerary
Pick up from your downtown Xi’an hotel and drive to Huashan Scenic Area, about 1.5 hours away. Morning: Arrive at the Visitor Center, transfer to the shuttle bus for the West Peak Cable Car lower station, and take the cable car up to West Peak. Visit West Peak, also known as Lotus Peak, and admire scenic spots such as Axe-Split Rock. Noon: Hike to South Peak, Huashan’s highest summit, passing the entrance to the Plank Road in the Sky, then continue to East Peak. Afternoon: Trek along Black Dragon Ridge, one of Huashan’s most famous dramatic trails. Afternoon: Arrive at North Peak, take the cable car down the mountain, and transfer by shuttle bus back to the Visitor Center. Evening: Return by vehicle to your downtown Xi’an hotel, where the tour ends.
