Upon your flight’s arrival at Shanghai Airport, your representative will wait for you at the arrival exit and transfer you by private vehicle to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is entirely at your own leisure. You may choose to rest in your room to recover from long-haul travel fatigue. If you feel energetic, you can step outside and stroll around the neighborhood to get a first taste of the vibrant pulse and authentic local life of this international metropolis. There is no fixed schedule today; simply relax and go with the flow.

After breakfast at the hotel, first visit Yu Garden and the adjacent City God Temple Bazaar, where classical gardens, diverse specialty shops and authentic local snacks gather. Then proceed to Jade Buddha Temple to admire the world-famous jade Buddha statues. Lunch is at your own expense at a nearby local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit a silk factory to learn about traditional Chinese silk craftsmanship. Later, take a walk along Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund Waterfront – both iconic landmarks of Shanghai. Return to your hotel in the evening.

After breakfast, drive to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in Qingpu District. Known as the “Venice of Shanghai” for its dense waterways, this well-preserved Jiangnan watertown offers a poetic scene of small bridges, flowing streams and traditional houses. You will stroll along the blue stone-paved lanes, wander through Ming and Qing dwellings, and cross various stone arch bridges. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in the old town. In the afternoon, take a traditional wooden rowboat cruise along the canals for about 30 minutes, enjoying the white-walled, black-tiled houses and weeping willows from the water perspective. Return to downtown Shanghai after the tour. Dinner is at your own expense.
