About Victoria Isabella
Victoria Isabella entered service on 28 September 2025. She is Victoria Cruises’ newest hull: about 17,000 GT, 590 guests, and the line’s current flagship on Chongqing–Yichang. She is not automatically the newest ship on the Yangtze — Yangzi Explorer also launched in 2025.
Power and movement. Isabella uses a diesel-electric hybrid system with solar panels on the top deck, so she typically runs quieter than older diesel ships on the same corridor. She is also the first Yangtze cruise ship with an escalator between Decks 5 and 6 — a shorter, easier walk to the upper viewing decks than stairs or the elevator alone.
Space. Public rooms are arranged as a “river courtyard,” with Three Gorges and Chongqing mountain-city motifs built into the interiors rather than added as décor. Service follows Victoria’s long-standing model: English-speaking onboard support, and details handled before you have to ask.
Choose Isabella if you want Victoria’s newest hull, a quieter ride, and easier access between the upper decks. If you want a larger Victoria inventory, compare Victoria Sabrina. Confirm deck, meal letters, and the shore list on your sailing before you pay.

- Deluxe Balcony cabins sit on Decks 2–5. Every cabin in this category already has a private river-view balcony — you are choosing height, not whether you get a view. The published fare is Deck 2 (lobby deck). Decks 3, 4, and 5 are paid upgrades.
- Deck 2 — Standard fare (lobby deck)
- This is the published Deluxe Balcony fare. Same private river-view balcony as every other cabin in this category — closest to the Dynasty Restaurant, lobby, reception, and the gangway.
- Decks 3–5 — Paid upgrades
- Same balcony cabin; you pay the published step for height, not a different room type.
- Deck 3 — the first paid step. A little more height, still a short walk to dining and the lobby.
- Decks 4–5 — quieter, a wider look at the gorges, and a shorter walk to the upper public rooms. The usual request if balcony time is why you booked.
- Request the deck when you book
- Write category plus deck on the Trip List — for example Deluxe Balcony Deck 5, twin or large bed. We send that request to the cruise line with your dates. Confirmation is what they return. Cabins are not assigned at random.
- After check-in (not a booking plan)
- Reception can move you only if a higher cabin is empty that night, and you pay the ship’s difference. Peak sailings are often full. If a higher deck is why you booked, lock it before you pay — do not book Deck 2 hoping to upgrade onboard.
- Want more space
- If you want a larger suite or a quieter dining room, ask us to quote an Executive Suite or a higher category for your dates. Those privileges are confirmed on the sailing, not assumed from the cabin name.
Deck Plans
Deck Highlight: Upper deck or lower deck on Victoria Isabella? On Victoria Isabella, “upper” vs “lower” is mainly a price-and-view choice, not a different cabin type. Standard balcony cabins (Victoria brochures often call these Superior) sit on Decks 2, 3, 4, and 5; the published fare rises with the deck. Every one of those cabins has a private river-view balcony. East Marvel books the deck you ask for when that inventory is open — we do not assign cabins at random. Upper decks (4–5, and suites) Choose a higher deck if you want a wider Three Gorges panorama from the balcony, a shorter walk to the sun deck / observation spaces, or you are already paying for an Executive Suite or Shangri-La Suite. Spa, cinema, and lounge rooms sit on the upper public decks. The extra cost on a Standard balcony cabin is the published step from Deck 2 to Deck 5, not a surprise at reception. Lower decks (2–3) Choose a lower cabin deck if you want the lowest published Standard fare, a shorter walk to the main dining room, lobby, and gangway, or you prefer fewer stairs. River motion on Chongqing–Yichang is mild compared with an ocean crossing. If you are unusually sensitive, ask for midship on Deck 2 or 3 on the inquiry — not after you board. How East Marvel holds a deck Tell us category plus deck on the Trip List (e.g. Standard Deck 5). We request that inventory from Victoria with your sailing. Confirmation is what the company returns. Do not plan on upgrading at reception after check-in: it depends on empty cabins, it costs extra, and it often fails in peak months. If Deck 5 is the point of the booking, lock it before you pay.
